We are expanding our Origination and Development teams countrywide to increase our reach and help us achieve our ambitious goals.
ROLE: Land Acquisition Manager for Scotland
FUNCTION / AREA: Origination - Development
REPORTING TO: Head of Land
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
Identifying, securing, and qualifying new opportunities for large scale Solar PV, Battery Storage and Hydrogen projects. In addition to this, the following tasks will be required.
- Securing landowner consent for grid connection applications and exclusivity
- Liaising with the Grid team to identify target areas
- Forging relationships with landowners, land agents and Introducers to release potential opportunities exclusively to the company
- Negotiating option/lease/cable & access easement/license heads of terms with landowners
- Supporting negotiation of land legal transactions to progress contracts through to completion
- Supporting Development team with land related matters
- Supporting Power Green (Private Wire division) with origination in Scotland
- Production of funder progress reports
- Weekly team meeting (office/remote)
- Logging and tracking of leads data on company’s CRM
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: An ideal candidate will have/be:
- Three years’ experience in the energy or real estate industry with a land focus
- Experience in face-to-face lead generation/sales
- Experience in securing land rights on targeted land (lease, option, license, easement)
- An understanding of Planning Policy and how this may impact identified development opportunities
- An existing network of relevant contacts preferable
- An existing book of landowner contacts preferable
- An understanding in Distribution/Transmission Networks preferable but not essential
- Highly self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously and meet individual targets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to approach landowners as a ‘cold’ lead
- Very well organised both in time management and record keeping, and comfortable in generating and handling multiple leads at any one time
- UK driving license
- Competent in using Microsoft Suite and Google Earth (further training will be provided on more specific land searching tools)
- Driven, with desire to succeed
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to be assertive when appropriate
- Appropriate knowledge of all relevant regulatory and legal requirements applicable to the position
